Joel Leslie Froomkin

Joel is an Audie-nominated audiobook narrator of over 450 titles. He was awarded three 2020 Independent Audiobook Awards including Best Male Narrator. He is the winner of a SOVAS award and the recipient of twelve coveted Audiofile Earphones Awards. In the romance genre he was named ‘All Time Favorite Narrator’ in the 2019 m/m romance Goodreads Readers Choice Awards.
Prior to embracing audiobooks, he worked as a director and assistant director in New York and London and was awarded Best Director at the NY Fringe Festival. He was the assistant director of the original NYC production of ‘Almost, Maine’, (one of the most performed plays in the United States) and the West End production of ‘Delicate Balance’ starring Dames Eileen Atkins and Maggie Smith. As a dialect coach he has trained Broadway regulars, celebrities and major regional and National Tours. He holds an MFA in Theater from USC and has served as a theater professor at NYU/Tisch, Purdue University and as Director of Drama at Manchester University. He loves to teach.
